Young Men Arrested For Swimming In The Irrigation Canal In Kirkuk, Fearing They Would Drown And Stop Pumping

The Kirkuk Water Directorate announced that the Rescue Police arrested a number of young men while they were swimming in the irrigation canal carrying water to operate the projects of the city of Kirkuk, which are equipped for more than 50 residential neighborhoods.

It said in a statement, that this canal located between the Dibis district and the water project in Kiwan is the only equipped canal, and that the drowning of one young man affects our projects and stops pumping water into the canal, thus depriving the neighborhoods of Kirkuk of drinking water at a temperature of 50 degrees Celsius
