WB/IMF Annual Meetings in Morocco Confirm Its Place And Leadership in Africa – Portuguese Expert

The trust that the Kingdom enjoys with financial institutions and the international community is not a matter of chance but rather the result of a comprehensive process of reform, developmental efforts, and progress in various areas, said the Portuguese expert in a statement to MAP.

He stressed that “Moroccans should take pride in the political, economic, and social gains achieved under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI,” believing that Morocco is clearly reaping the rewards of the Royal Vision that the Sovereign has set forth since His accession to the Throne in 1999.

The Kingdom has undertaken a range of simultaneous and integrated economic and political reforms, enabling it to strike a balance on the continent. This establishes Morocco, without a doubt, as the best representative of the countries of the South and Africa to symbolize the reforms underway as part of the policies of the Bretton Woods institutions aimed at the South and Africa.

He added that Morocco is the only country on the continent with a strong, stable middle class, which he believes to be the most solid foundation for supporting democracy and establishing its leadership on the continent in various areas.

The WB-IMF Annual Meetings, returning to African soil after 50 years, have provided an opportunity for the world’s economic and financial elite to discuss significant issues, particularly related to financing policies, economic growth, and climate change.
