Casablanca – The French Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Morocco (CFCIM) announced on Tuesday the upcoming 6th stage of the Morocco-France Economic Days, set to take place in Nantes from January 23 to 25. The event, organized in partnership with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in France, aims to foster economic ties between Moroccan and French regions, emphasizing the potential for regional co-investment.

Following the recent 5th stage held in Marseille, Nantes is gearing up to host the 6th stage, centered on blue economy and industrial ecosystems. In a video message, Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE) President Ahmed Réda Chami highlighted the strategic importance of blue economy for Morocco’s economic development.

Chami pointed out that Morocco’s extensive maritime domain – boasting 3,500 kilometers of coastline on the Mediterranean and Atlantic, a 1.2 million km² Exclusive Economic Zone, and nine coastal regions out of twelve – provides both economic and geopolitical advantages.

E
conomically, Chami emphasized the development of sustainable fishing, aquaculture, marine biotechnologies, shipbuilding, and offshore renewable energies as key areas of focus. For his part, CFCIM Director General Jean Charles Damblin stated that the event’s goal is to facilitate meetings between economic actors from different regions of France and Morocco, supporting them in their activities and creating synergies.

Damblin underscored the importance of a strong partnership between the two countries in the blue economy, particularly in shipyards, biotechnologies, maritime energies, transport, and tourism. A Moroccan delegation of approximately sixty participants is expected to attend the Nantes Economic Days.

The program includes sectoral round-tables, testimonials, and workshops led by experts covering topics such as fishing, aquaculture, seaside tourism, nautical activities, energy, desalination, biotechnologies, and shipyards. Site visits are also scheduled, allowing the Moroccan delegation to explore Nan
tes’ emblematic blue economy projects and fostering direct exchanges between the two countries.

The Morocco-France Economic Days have been organized since 2021, with a focus on promoting a dynamic bilateral flow between Morocco and France and encouraging co-investment in key sectors of cooperation. This year’s event underscores the importance of the blue economy as a catalyst for economic growth and collaboration between the two nations.
