MP JUMBLATT URGES APPOINTMENT OF NEW CENTRAL BANK CHIEF

MP Taymour Jumblatt stressed, in a tweet on Monday, the obligation of appointing a new central bank chief to stave off further complication at the financial level. “The minimum level of logic to protect what is left of the [state] institutions necessitates the appointment of a new governor for the central bank in order to avert monetary and financial dangers that only add to the suffering of the Lebanese citizens,” the head of the “Democratic Gathering” parliamentary bloc said. “It is the duty of the government to achieve this, and the political forces must facilitate this process away from the logic of quota sharing and traded vetoes,” he added.
