Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity Sets Up Accommodation Platform in Quake-Affected Al Haouz Province

Azgour (province of Al Haouz) – The Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity has set up an accommodation platform for the inhabitants of Toulkine, a village located 1,700 meters above sea level, in the rural municipality of Azgour in the province of Al Haouz, affected by the earthquake of September 8.

This new solidarity initiative, launched Wednesday by the Foundation, in partnership with Renault Groupe Maroc, is part of the field actions carried out for the inhabitants of the regions affected by the earthquake.

This humanitarian action, which is also part of the outpouring of solidarity with the populations of the quake-affected areas, aims to provide safe and durable housing to affected families.

These are 44 maritime transport containers transformed into accommodations equipped with beds, kitchen equipment and cleaning products for 220 people, including 12 widows, 14 elderly people and families whose members are disabled, in addition to 4 toilet blocks and two classrooms in a primary school in this village
, located 45 km from the city of Amizmiz.

The beneficiaries welcomed this commendable initiative which will allow them to benefit from appropriate accommodation conditions, expressing their sincere thanks to the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity for its continued efforts, in close collaboration with local authorities, in order to provide support and assistance to the affected populations.

They also expressed their deep gratitude to HM King Mohammed VI for the High Solicitude granted by the Sovereign to the inhabitants of the areas affected by the Al Haouz earthquake.
