MIKATI CHAIRS FINANCIAL MEETINGS, DISCUSSES BUDGET AND EMPLOYEE CONDITIONS; ADVANCES WATER RESERVOIR PROJECT IN BEIRUT SUBURBS

Caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Wednesday chaired two financial meetings at the Grand Serail. The first included Finance Minister Youssef Khalil, Director General of the Ministry of Finance Dr. George Maaraoui, and Mikati’s advisor, former minister Nicolas Nahas. This meeting focused on budget discussions.

The second meeting, also attended by the Finance Minister, Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers Judge Mahmoud Mekkieh, Civil Service Council President Nisrine Mashmoushi, and Dr. George Maaraoui, continued discussions on employee conditions, salary adjustments, and wages.

Prime Minister Mikati also met with Deputy Faisal Karami, with whom he discussed current issues.

Additionally, Mikati received President of Southern Suburbs Municipalities Union, Mohammad Dargham, accompanied by legal advisor Mohammad Nabouh.

Following the meeting, Dargham stated, “The discussion covered plans to establish a 5,500 cubic meter water reservoir to supply water to residents within the municipalities of
Ghobeiry and Beirut.

Prime Minister Mikati provided his directives to expedite this project.
