Iranian, Iraqi Presidents Reach Security Understanding

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi confirmed that Iran and Iraq reached a security understanding that would ensure security in the region.

During a joint press conference with the Iraqi president Abdullatif Jamal Rashid who visited Tehran on Saturday, Raisi underlined that the security stability in Iraq is a stability for security in Iran, pointing out that the two countries have strategic relations in policy, economy and energy, including other numerous fields. He added that the relations go far beyond the bilateral cooperation between the two countries to expand and encompass regional and international cooperation.

For his part, the Iraqi president underlined the strength of relations between Iraq and Iran, stressing on the importance of boosting cooperation and sharing expertise between various institutions in the two countries.
