Washington, At least ten people, including teenagers, were injured in a shooting incident that took place in Madison, the capital of US state of Wisconsin.

American police said that nine people were injured by gunfire and another by broken glass during a party held in downtown Madison.

The victims ranged in age from 14 to 23, Police Chief Shon Barnes said, adding “These students should have been celebrating summer vacation and not receiving medical treatment.” No arrests have been made. The police believe it was likely a targeted incident.

The United States witnesses frequent shooting incidents driven by various motives, making the issue of widespread gun ownership among the population one of the most contentious issue.

On June 25, 2022, US President Joe Biden signed into law a bipartisan gun bill that imposes regulations on gun ownership in the United States.
